Hey Gigglers! I hope you’ve been enjoying yourselves this summer. I’ve been busy as a bee 🐝 and trying not to burn to a crisp in this Vegas heat.
Yesterday, I found out some exciting news… “Over the Top Secret” has been chosen as a 2024 Killer Nashville Top Pick for BEST COMEDY in the Killer Nashville Silver Falchion Awards!
You read that right!
I am so thrilled with this news. I submitted my book for consideration in February and have been eager to hear back ever since. A part of me doubted my book would be seriously considered because it has zero reviews on any of the online retailers where it’s listed. (Side note: if you’ve read the book and loved it, please leave a review for it on Amazon or wherever you love to buy your books!) BUT THE LACK OF REVIEWS DIDN’T MATTER! They read it, yo. The Killer Nashville committee read the book, and they loved it. They said it’s one of the best submissions they received! (They probably tell everyone that… but I don’t care!)
The feeling of having my work recognized has me walking on a cloud, y’all. We will find out which book won the category for BEST COMEDY on August 23rd during the Awards Dinner.

Oh! Another fantastic book-related update… a few months ago, my incredibly talented and humorous author friend
invited me to contribute to her first-ever anthology, “Yankee Doodle Soup for the Fringy, Tin Foil Hat-Wearing Conspiracy Theorist’s Soul.” It’s a collection of heartwarming and hilarious essays by a diverse group of authors who have one thing in common… something positive to say about the pandemic. I wrote a piece called “Thank you, Covid.” The book is now available!
In other news, here’s what I’ve been up to:
🌪️ Eagerly awaiting the release of TWISTERS (My family is going to see it in a 4DX theater! I already ordered my poncho…)
👰♀️🤵♂️ Planning my wedding (I can’t wait to walk down the aisle and marry my man!)
💪 Strength training (I’ve been working on building muscle, improving posture, and getting stronger. A personal trainer taught me the basics of strength training and put me on a plan we call “Operation Muscle Bird.” I’ve gained three pounds of muscle so far! I should probably slow down, though… don’t wanna get so bootylicious that my wedding dress doesn’t fit! HA)
🌊 🏴☠️ Playing Sea of Thieves (I’m obsessed with sailing the open seas! I feel like Luffy from One Piece whenever I play this game.)
