Hello! 👋
Welcome to The Giggler, home to written adventures and storytelling geekdom with award-winning goofball Alexa Tuttle (AKA The Giggler).
That means: prepare yourself for original fiction and wacky life updates from the mind of a crazy person Jane-of-all-trades.
Whether you're here because you know me personally, discovered me through my kid's books or movies, were invited by my secret steamy romance alter ego pen name (Hey, Book Babe!), met me in the comments of fellow Substacks, learned about me through my voice acting, or somehow stumbled upon my little corner of the interwebs… thank you. It’s so great to have you with me on this new adventure! We're going to have a lot of fun together.
If we’ve yet to be acquainted, visit the ABOUT page for a bit of background on who I am and where I’m coming from. (I’ll wait right here if you want to read that, first!)
Today is my birthday 🥳, and I wanted to celebrate by starting this Substack. Let’s kick things off with revealing some more information about the first story I will publish here at The Giggler— a fast-paced adventure comedy called, Over the Top Secret.
I believe you can learn a lot about a person by discovering what makes them laugh. Writing OTTS (my shorthand for the title) made me laugh so hard that my family started calling me The Giggler! If you find yourself LOLing at any point during this story, we'll get along swimmingly.
Here's the blurb for Over the Top Secret:
A fun, fast-paced, humorous mystery about a brainy, relatable heroine, a government experiment gone wrong, and the zany world of T.O.P.S.E.C.R.E.T. espionage…
My name is Julie Richardson, and if you'd told me one week ago that I'd be racing through the sewers of Paris in search of a golden thumb drive to stop an Evil Villain from destroying the world, I'd have thought you were describing some off-brand James Bond film.
Unfortunately for me, I had to go and *accidentally* trigger a dangerous government experiment that turned me into the most sought-after source of classified intel on the planet. I used to be worried about my GPA and graduating college at the top of my class. Now, I've got bad guys chasing after me, so-called "good guys" trying to experiment on me, and Evil Villains threatening to cut out my brain! The good news is, there's a chance I could get my normal life back. The bad news is that chance is slim to none.
Forced to go on a life-threatening government mission? Check.
Accompanied by the world's mosthandsomeself-absorbed spy? Check.
A plan? Not even close.Welcome to T.O.P.S.E.C.R.E.T.

WARNING: This book contains screwball humor, non-stop adventure, amateur sleuthing, and shameless movie references. For fans of goofy comedies, spy parodies, and unadulterated fun. Read at your own risk...
Eep!
I’m so excited to share this story with my cherished newsletter subscribers before I publish it in physical format. You can expect a new OTTS chapter every Thursday morning, starting two weeks from now (February 9th), right up to the final chapter.
Stay tuned for the first chapter of Over the Top Secret!
In the meantime, I'd love to get to know you. Let's introduce ourselves in the comments by sharing a book we read or show we watched recently that made us laugh out loud. (Whether that's a guffaw, a snort, or a full-on ab-crunching belly laugh! If there was a smile involved, it totally counts. 😉)
Until next time,
Alexa
This sounds amazing! I can't wait to experience this. Over the Top Secret is such a great story title. Happy belated birthday, Alexa!
I read that blurb when someone showed me how to find the library on Substack for writers of fiction. I was like, "I found my humans", and since I'm focusing mainly on mystery/noir currently in my writing, I went to that section, and I saw this funny blurb about OTTS. Great hook! I'm not sure I write "funny", but the main character of the first book of my forthcoming mystery series, Sesame Swallow, does have her moments, and at least she makes me laugh - that's a start.
