I read that blurb when someone showed me how to find the library on Substack for writers of fiction. I was like, "I found my humans", and since I'm focusing mainly on mystery/noir currently in my writing, I went to that section, and I saw this funny blurb about OTTS. Great hook! I'm not sure I write "funny", but the main character of the first book of my forthcoming mystery series, Sesame Swallow, does have her moments, and at least she makes me laugh - that's a start. Here's an excerpt from the first book: https://sjstone.substack.com/publish/posts/detail/136352900/share-center
š„¹ This is so cool! Thank you for sharing and for joining The Giggler community of goofballs! Also I tried the link but for some reason it is saying I canāt access because itās a private link? Eager to check our Sesame Swallow!
Also, looking forward to OTTS! I just downloaded Christopher Moore's "Noir", and he is such a good and funny author. I love his books and have read probably half a dozen.
Annoying social media thingy. It's probably because I used the link for "sharing" that it does after you post, not the link to the excerpt. If it had been an email, I would have forgotten the attachment. This is a thing with me. But, let's try this:
More than happy to wait around for your story to come out. I like to laugh. In the meantime, I left you a link so you could take a look at what I have.
Hmmmm it takes a lot for me to giggle I think? But the funniest thing Iāve read in a while was actually an in-progress script about a jester....But I also laughed too hard at the menu (dark humor).
Hahaha I know which in-progress story youāre talking about! And YES I canāt wait to see The Menu. The trailer looked great and after watching The Great Iām a fan of Nicholas Hoult (I think thatās how you spell it?)
The funniest book I recently read was actually a childrenās book! Called Detective Butthead or ććććććć¦ććin Japanese! It is so ridiculous, but the story is actually funny and interesting! I was not expecting a children's book to actually entertain me. The best part is the detectiveās partner is called Mr. Brown! I laughed out loud multiple times throughout. Itās a good series and if you like that sort of humor, Iād say its worth reading to your kids as well š!

I havenāt read it in a while, but the funniest book I can think of is ādo androids dream of electric sheep.ā The book is filled with deadpan humour and absurdity at the situation the characters are in--trying to figure out whether somebody is human or not. Although my wife didnāt interpret it as a comedy at all so maybe Iām just strange
I recently discovered the SPACE TEAM series by Barry J Hutchison... š So far Iāve laughed on almost every page throughout. Oh! And the audiobook performance by Phil Thron is awesome. Highly recommend!
This sounds amazing! I can't wait to experience this. Over the Top Secret is such a great story title. Happy belated birthday, Alexa!
š¤ Thank you! Iām so excited to entertain you šš»

Over the Top Secret sounds amazing!! Lately I've been laughing at everything Meg Oolders writes over on her Substack - Stock Fiction.
Stock Fiction is great! Thanks for the referral
Glad you liked it! Meg is awesome!
Thank you for being here! I will definitely check out her Substack š
Ahoy! We were discussing secret doors, so just following up. š¬
I usually say that comedies are not funny but I really liked Hot Fuzz. Just the right sprinklings of everything.
Also, welcome!
Hot Fuzz is awesome! Itās one of my favorite films. I love the snapzooms and fast paced editing. So fun.

Nice to meet you, fellow writer! I love that you write so many different kinds of stories.

Bahahaha omg that sounds amazing š¤£ Is the story written in Japanese?
Yes, it is! Oops- I forgot to mention that one important detail! I hope they have an English translation so more people can enjoy it!

That totally sounds like my kind of book. And how interesting that it could be interpreted so differently! Adding it to my list š
